Floor Sander
This is the best floor sander for Do-It-Yourself sanding of patches and other rough areas on the court. It will smooth the surface and is very easy to use. You can find this sander at most Home Depot Rental Stores. Use 12 or 20 grit sand paper for best results. These papers look rough, but trust me, they are just right. Don't forget to rent enough heavy extension cord. Regular cord will not work. The circuit breaker on the machine will trip immediately. Some stores only want to rent 50' of cord plus the 15' or 20' on the machine, fearing the motor might be over-stressed. We have found the machine performs fine with 100' of heavy cord. However, we do not recommend ignoring their guidelines. If they won't supply enough cord, you may have to rent a generator as well.
